So you want a super cute doormat but you’ve got pups to spoil so you couldn’t possibly spend $50+ on a doormat. So why not DIY it?
DIY-ing a doormat is one of the easiest projects you can take on! I don’t think I can ever go back to buying pre-made doormats again.

Doormat: You can get a plain one from almost any store that sells doormats, but I got mine from IKEA for $9.99
Stencil: I used a vinyl cutout that I made from my Silhouette Cameo. But you can buy plain stencil sheets from Hobby Lobby and cut out whatever design your heart desires.
Paint: You can use any color and any kind of paint! I went for acrylic but another good option is spray painting it.

Matts kept stepping all over the mat (ha!) so I needed a little more protection and decided to use duct tape to hold the vinyl in place.

These cute models make it look a lot better than it actually is. But I think it turned out great for an afternoon project! You know I will be going to IKEA to grab some more plain doormats real soon.
